TULSA, OKLA. (KTUL) — Tulsa firefighters extinguished a car fire Wednesday morning on a busy roadway.
Engine 21 responded to the scene near 3900 S. Yale Ave. during the morning rush hour. The SUV’s owner told firefighters he had recently gotten the car back from the mechanic. While driving, the car reportedly wouldn’t go into gear and began rolling forward. Moments later, it caught fire.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. No one was injured.
Both southbound lanes of Yale Ave. between E. 38th Street South and E. 39th Street South are temporarily closed until the vehicle can be safely towed from the scene.
