More than 173,000 Nissan and Chevrolet vehicles are being recalled due to a potential issue with a blown fuel pump fuse.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall notice including the Nissan NV200, Nissan NV200 Taxi and the Chevrolet City Express.
“The Fuel Tank Temperature (FTT) sensor harness may have been incorrectly routed, damaging wires and causing a short circuit in the fuel pump fuse,” said the NHTSA.
Dealers will inspect the vehicles and reroute the sensor harness or replace the fuel pump free of charge for affected owners.
The NHTSA said owners can expect notification letters to be mailed Dec. 3. They can contact Nissan’s customer service at 800-647-7261. The Nissan recall number is PMA56.
Owners can use their Vehicle Identification Number to search for recalls on NHTSA.org.
