A man crashed his car with such force in Thurston County Friday night, the engine ripped away from the vehicle.
Photos taken by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Department show the smashed up car separated from its engine.
The engine can be seen lying the middle of E. 93rd, east of Olympia.

Investigators say the man in the vehicle was driving with a suspended license and suspected of being impaired.
Witnesses called 911 and told dispatchers the vehicle was exploding and fully engulfed in flames.
Thurston County deputies were the first on the scene.
They were able to pull the driver out of the wreck.
It’s unclear how badly the driver was hurt.
Photos show the airbags on the two-door coupe had deployed.
Fuel and coolant from the vehicle also spilled onto the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The Tumwater Police Department and the East Olympia Fire Department also responded to the crash.
The horrific one-car smashup took place on the same evening the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office added extra deputies to its DUI Emphasis Patrol, to focus on enforcement of drunk driving laws.
